Truck load of shoes
New marketing scheme for displaying clothes?
Lots of people have gardens in ditches, in front of homes, along the river, on corners, basically wherever they can claim some dirt, they will try to grow something. They bring their extra produce to the street and sell it
This is an open food market. It is a big long building open on either end. The smell is pretty amazing. Doesn't really make you want to buy much :)
Baked goods! You don't see ovens like that very often here.
The FDA would freak out. There is meat everywhere, some alive, most of it chopped up on all sorts of surfaces...
These girls started following us about halfway down the street and made friends with our girls. They followed us all the way home, Kenz had a great time with them, funny how communication doesn't seem to be that difficult for kids.
After about 2 hours they came back to our apartment with some drawings and some small toys for the girls. They also brought their parents phones and were taking pictures of everything!
This is a store close to the restaurant we eat at every night. There is a little girl who waits for Kenz and Kaylie to get done eating every night then they all go down to the store and play with the puppy together. The girls love this little dog, she has caused conversations of wanting a new puppy when we go back to America. Poor Delta!
Sad update: Over the weekend we were catching a taxi outside our complex and the Grandma (who runs the store) her son and the little girl came out and they were real upset. They led Kyle to the street outside the store and the little puppy was laying by the curb. Kenz thought she was sleeping so she picked her up, she had been hit by a car and had died. This is the first time the girls have had something they cared about die. Every night I can hear Kaylie talking to Kenz about it after they go to bed. They really had a hard time understanding that death is final, it has been interesting trying to explain it to them.
