Apartment

We live in an apartment on the 8th floor of a building that has 14 floors.  Our apartment complex has 20+ buildings and each building has between 12-18 floors.  The complex has a large pool and a work out center, both of which are still under construction, not sure if they will ever be completed but I'm hopefully, at least for the pool.  Most of the high rise complex's in our area are gated communities.  Not sure this means anything, I've never seen the guards turn anyone away, they seem to have about the same about of authority as mall cops and the same level of curiosity of a 4 year old.  They love watching us, jabbering at our kids, touching them and trying to talk louder and faster in the hopes that we get what they are saying :)  Their are 'security' guys everywhere, they are all male, they are of all ages, at first I was slightly nervous with so many of them around but now they just seem to fit in with the surroundings.  They also have cleaners there everyday, they sweep and mop the brick walkway, wipe down railings, walk around and look busy.  All the cleaners are women and all the security people are men.  At least in our complex, not sure if the other ones are the same or not.
