Shopping

Searching for food in this place is somewhat challenging.  Everything of course is labeled in Chinese so I am guessing a lot as far as what things are.  We have tried a lot of different kinds of food, most has been good.  Every day we go to the open markets and get fruit and water.  About once a week I go to the larger grocery store.  It looks a lot like a Walmart, lots of things other than food, they sell clothes and household goods.  They have a large produce area, meat market a little bakery and dairy area.  The average cost of about 6 ounces of cheese is $6.00.  A little square of butter will cost you about #3.00.  Milk is about $10.00 per gallon, although they don't sell it by the gallon.  But fresh fruit and veggies are real cheap, they have fresh crackers.  They do sell some bread, not much but it is relatively cheap.  Lots and lots of rice!  A small box of American Cheerios costs about $4.00, most everything Chinese is really cheap, but if you want anything American you are going to pay a lot.
